I wasn't elected...

I was not elected to be the delegate from the fair & square party. But Jacob Christian, the person who was elected, asked me to be his campaign manager.

So, that is the end of this blog, but I might make another one.

Unemployment
The government needs to be helping unemployed people get jobs and should be creating jobs for people who cannot find them. A lot of people being unemployed is bad for the economy.
Military
I think it is important that we have a strong military so we are protected if another country ever tries to invade us. But I think the military should only be used as a last resort after a lot of diplomacy and negotiations. We also should not be spending the most money on the military, the most money should be going to paying for health care for people who can't afford it and helping the environment. Such as installing solar energy.
Taxes
The government needs to have some kind of income, but taxes shouldn't be too high. One of the reasons America became it's own country is because the king of England's taxes were too high. I the government also shouldn't tax people who can't afford it. Taxes should be based on people's incomes, but they shouldn't be taxed on their income. I think it is very important taxes are not too high because that is one of the reasons this country was founded.
Nuclear Power
Nuclear power is dangerous and I think there are much better ways of getting energy. If there were an accident in a nuclear power plant it would kill lots of people and leave survivors with long term health problems. There are more efficient and safer ways of getting energy and those should be used.
Equal Rights
Everyone deserves equal rights. Everyone needs to get paid the same. Minorities are the same as everyone else and deserve the same as everyone else, they're still people and they need equal rights.
Energy Policy
The government should be encouraging using renewable energy sources like solar and wind. These things will never run run out, unlike fossil fuels which will run out sometime and then we'll be in trouble. The government also needs to be able to tell the oil companies if they are charging way to much for oil and need to bring the price down a little bit. If oil prices are too high it is bad for the economy, and it is also harder for people to pay for.
Education
it's hard to say what I think about education because I am still in school and I am being home schooled.
I think that there should be a nation wide standard for what is taught in public schools, but, in Washington at least, they need to be a little less strict about the home school laws. If parents don't want to send their kids to public school then I don't think it's any of the governments business.
Free speech
Freedom of speech is very important, we are guaranteed it in the constitution. This means that if we don't like the president, or a law, or anything like that we are allowed to say it. I do not think this means we are allowed to say offensive, untrue or embarrassing things about them though.
Health Care
I think that the government needs to make sure that everyone gets proper health care. I am not saying that the government should be paying for everyone's medical costs, but I think that they should be helping people who cannot pay for it themselves. There should be some kind of insurance the government gives these people that will help them cover whatever medical costs they can not afford. Everyone needs health care, even people who can't pay for it. In the constitution Americans are guaranteed life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, it's hard to be happy if you're sick.
The Environment
The environment is one of the issues I am most concerned about, mostly because something seems to be very wrong with it. The polar icecaps are melting and it snowed in April in Seattle Washington this year, doesn't that seem a bit wrong? I think we need to reduce emissions from cars and factories and we need to start switching to a renewable energy source instead of using fossil fuels, which are going to run out sometime which will be very bad. We need to cleanup all the litter just lying around on the ground every where you go and stop just burying our garbage and forgetting about it. there is a way to recycle pretty much everything and we need to be doing it, if more things were made from recycled materials it would be much better for the environment.
Some people seem to be questioning my save the frogs campaign. I can understand why you are questioning it; I gave no reason to save the frogs on my posters and the frogs seem to be doing just fine. Well the frogs are not doing just fine, they are being killed of by a disease called chytrid fungus which is only treatable for frogs in captivity so the wild frogs are all dying. This is very bad because frogs are an indicator of the rest of the environment; if something bad is happening to the frogs then it is very likely that something bad is happening to the environment.
Hello fellow Mock Election Class students!
I guess you are wondering why you should vote for me for president. Well, I have created this blog to answer your questions about that and tell you my views about the issues. One of the issues I find most important is the environment. But that does not mean that I ignore the other issues, like health care, free speech, equal rights and so on.
If you have any questions feel free to email me or post it on here.
Please vote for me!
